Castaic lake

On Tuesday it was for me very special ride. Since 2007 when I first learned that bikers in California they have event there which supports Muscular Dystrophy kids and later Wounded Warrior project I wanted to see the place where it all happened – Castaic lake and meet people who were as Oliver says „in charge of this mess“ .

So I met Oliver Shokouh , who was in charge of it 32 years and I am his guest in Tujunga. I met Uglies brothers who are in the same motorcycle club as Oliver. Met Robert Patrick from Boozefighters in Santa Clarita Harley Davidson Dealership which is co owned by Oliver and learned about their plans to renew Love Ride in US.

I came to be part of Love Ride team because I think sometimes – once a year we are giving away all our diffencies if we ride other bikes or ride slow or fast or if we were those patches or that patches and we have christmas day back home with our family. We give presents and we share nice moments with our loved ones. Well for any biker I think it is nice if once a year he or she goes to big (or small) motorcycle charity event and share nice time and generousity with other fellow bikers. It does not matter if the gift is big or small , all it matters that you are a part of that special day, a part of that special community. And I know in California people, bikers, might not be open at the moment to run Love Ride anymore or to participate in it. But my message or wish is: Let´s get it back on the road! No nation, no motorcycle group, nobody had such long charity event in history like Love Ride in US. Maybe 2020 could be nice year to start... So on Tuesday I went to Castaic lake and visited nice mountain area around it, met group of fellows travellers riders on the road at Lake Hughes and it was for me very special day that I was allowed to visit Castaic lake.

The Love Ride is a charity motorcycle ride held annually in Southern California and in Switzerland. Its organizers bill it as "The Largest One-Day Motorcycle Fund-Raising Event in the World".

Harley-Davidson of Glendale, CA

The Love Ride was founded by Oliver Shokouh, the owner of a Harley-Davidson dealership in Glendale, California. Jay Leno has served as Grand Marshal every year since 1985. Other celebrity participants have included Lorenzo Lamas and Larry Hagman, Robert Patrick, and musicians Lynyrd Skynyrd.
